As if Ed Sheeran wasn’t already taking over the world, now he’s using his influence to help rising artists get a shot at the big time, too.
Late last year, he announced he’d be starting a record label, aptly named Gingerbread Man Records.
An imprint under Warner Music, GMR signed its first act, singer Jamie Lawson, in March.
“My first signing is Jamie Lawson – he’s an incredible talent, who I’ve known for a couple of years, and we’ve actually been on tour this year across Australia and the UK/Europe. Jamie’s self-titled album is coming on October 9 and I can’t wait for you to hear it,” the “Thinking Out Loud” singer said in an official statement.
Sheeran has also launched the official YouTube channel for Gingerbread Man Records, where you can catch all the latest videos from Lawson and future acts on the label.
Watch Lawson’s video for his touching ballad, “Wasn’t Expecting That,” below, and look out for his debut album this fall.
