While most people are swooning or crying over songs by Ed Sheeran, one music festival boss seems none too thrilled with the ginger haired chart-topper.
Speaking at the Live UK Summit 2014 panel, John Gidding , the promoter of the Isle of Wight festival, said, “We’re not building headliners anymore. Nobody can invest in building a band over five albums. And if boring acts like Ed Sheeran are the future then we’re all screwed!”
Apparently, earlier this year, Gidding had approached Ed Sheeran’s people on performing at the festival, but he was told that the singer would be performing in the United States on those dates. Something which Sheeran alluded to when he replied to a twitter post that quoted Gidding calling him ‘boring’.

In a nonchalant way, Sheeran’s twitter reply said “he asked me to do the festival next year a few weeks ago funnily enough and i couldn’t do it due to another gig”.
