In a recent move by Eminem’s Eight Mile Style group, a lawsuit has been filed against Facebook for unauthorized song usage.
According to the company, Eminem’s song ‘Under the Influence’ was used in a 30 second Facebook advert back in April without appropriate copyright clearance. Said advert aired during a webcast held by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announcing Facebook Home for Android.
Andrew Noyes (Facebook spokesperson) declined to comment, and nothing has been heard from ad agency Wieden+Kennedy, the agency supposedly responsible for the fiasco.
