Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP was released back in 2000 and is considered by a lot of fans as his best work, so could his eighth studio album named The Marshall Mathers LP II have the same impact?

“Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP II, obviously I knew that there might be expectations. I wouldn’t want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs – and just when you think you got it, you listen and you’re like ‘Fuck, man! I feel like it needs this or that’ to paint the whole picture”, Eminem told Rolling Stone.

The album will be released worldwide on November 5th, but the rapper explained that it is not a sequel to the 2000 album: “[It’s] not necessarily a sequel, as much as it is a revisitation. So there’s not gonna be, like, continuations of every old song on there or anything like that. To me, it’s more about the vibe, and it’s more about the nostalgia”.

The Marshall Mathers LP II includes singles “Rap God”, “Survival”, “Berzerk” [produced by Rick Rubin, and said to be a more of an old-school hip-hop single], as well as collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Nate Ruess and Rihanna.
