British actress Emma Thompson recently said, “some young actors can be a bit snobby about doing press,” during the premier of her new movie, The Love Punch, at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Thompson says that young actors must make their job fun not only for themselves, but fun for the fans. She explains that doing press is as simple as describing how much you like the show, what you love about, and why you think it’s good.
Thompson even went so far as to display how young actors and actresses should behave when promoting their film or show. She posed for cameras comfortably and danced down the red carpet. When asked about her relaxed posture in the spotlight Emma said that young actors must realize the importance of the relationship between the actors and press.
The Love Punch is scheduled to release on December 26 in the UK. It’s a romantic comedy about a divorced couple who plot to get back their stolen retirement money.
