Ender’s Game fans get ready! Director Gavin Hood has finally spoken out to give the world an update on how his upcoming film adaptation is going so far. Production of the film is in full swing at the moment. Hood took a moment from working to give fans insight on how things were rolling so far. With this update, Hood’s long awaited adaptation of the classic sci-fi novel takes its much needed first step towards publicity.

Hood took to Tumblr to share with fans about the progress of the film. “Hello fellow Ender’s Game fans,” Hood wrote in a Tumblr post. “It’s been four years since I first began writing a screenplay based on the classic novel. I love the book. And I especially love the character of Ender Wiggin. I was drafted into an army myself at 17, and Ender’s journey of self discovery - his battles with authority figures he does not trust and his development as a leader - are themes I strongly relate to,” he continued.

Hood also teased about the one of the most famous scenes in the novel. “We are now well into post production,” Hood continued, “and the famous zero gravity battle room scenes are looking fantastic. We started a year ago by sending our talented young actors off to a ‘space camp’ to train under the guidance of real NASA astronauts.”

Hood also shared a bit about the actors on his film’s experience. According to Hood, “They learned to move in zero gravity environments and experienced the wonderful feeling of weightlessness. Mix in some truly incredible visual effects work and today we are looking at battle room scenes that will blow your mind!”

Added at the end of his post was a first image of the battle room, a zero-G environment at Ender’s high tech state-of-the-art military school, where all the children learn combat training. Seeing as these children are preparing for an alien invansion, it is vital for them to learn how to fight.

Ender’s Game stars Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley and Hailee Steinfeld. It is scheduled for a UK released date of October 25, 2013.

Sounds like they are not messing around in this film! How excited are you for Ender’s Game to come out?
