Tom And Jerry, Bugs And Scooby To Be Revived Again For The Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network is taking it old school for it’s new season! The CN announced plans to bring back classics characters like Tom & Jerry, Scooby-Doo, and Bugs Bunny in it’s upcoming slate of new original and returning programming.

Beginning April 9th, The Tom and Jerry Show, broadcasting in HD, will be a “new, fresh take” on the classic cat-and-mouse series from the 1940s. Be Cool Scooby-Doo is a new 22-minute series that will put a modern twist on the mayhem-chasing Mystery Machine gang. Wabbit — A Looney Tunes Production will feature shorts from the carrot-crunching rabbit featuring some old foes (Yosemite Sam, Wile E. Coyote) and new friends (Big Foot, Squeaks the squirrel).

Over the Garden Wall, is one of 11 new original programming offerings. A 10-part miniseries featuring an ensemble voice-cast including Elijah Wood (LOTR Trilogy), Melanie Lynskey (Two and a Half Men), and Collin Dean (The War at Home). The series follows brothers, Wirt and Greg, who become trapped in a mysterious fantasy world.

Also announced was the new “Cartoon Network Anything” digital initiative, which will allow users to receive various content (games, activities, trivia, etc) via mobile phones and devices. 13 series will return this season, as well.
