The Daleks, also known as The Mutants, are famous for their catchphrase “Exterminate” and themselves will be celebrating their 50th anniversary having appeared in the original season in 1963.

The official Doctor Who Twitter account have also released the first image stills of the Daleks from the 50th showing them in their classic design, rather than the updated version which debuted in 2010.

Steven Moffat, lead writer and executive producer has said “The Doctor once said that you can judge a man by the quality of his enemies, so it’s fitting that for this very special episode, he should be facing the greatest enemies of all”

Joining the Daleks in the 50th will be the shape shifting Zygons, which only appeared in the series once before, in 1975.

The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special will air on November 23, exactly 50 years after its first airing in 1963.
