And not just any purchase:

A $19 billion purchase!!
This past Wednesday, Facebook made headlines when it purchased the ever-growing WhatsApp for a staggering $16 billion, but that’s not all. If the founders and employees stick around for an extra 4 years, they’ll bring in an additional $3 billion in Facebook stock, rounding out the purchase total to $19 billion.
This would then put the groundbreaking deal on par with Hewlett-Packard’s massive merge with Compaq back in 2002.
The purchase also comes almost 2 years after Facebook purchased Instagram for $1 billion back in 2012.
WhatsApp charges its staggering 450 million users an annual fee of only $1 for unlimited data messaging which is VERY different from other mobile networks.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg said of the purchase:
“I proposed that if we joined, we could really connect the world,”

What do you guys think of Facebook acquiring WhatsApp??
