Busch Gardens officially opened their newest thrill-ride, Falcon’s Fury, to guests today at the park.
The 335-foot drop-tower takes riders high above Busch Gardens. The ride starts out with the seats in an upright position and rotate 90 degrees before the plummet. Riders will experience up to 3.5Gs during their 5 to 6 second drop during the two minute experience.
“We know guests from around the world have been waiting to experience this one-of-a-kind thrill ride, and we are excited to officially invite those guests to ride Falcon’s Fury,” said Park President Jim Dean.
Falcon’s Fury isn’t the only change at Busch Gardens. The surrounding area previously themed as Timbuktu received a new look earlier this year as the fantasy world of Pantopia. Mark Rose, VP of Design & Engineering, said “Pantopia is kind of a generic name that says fantasy and excitement but doesn’t root you in a single place in the world.”
Based on traveler’s from around the world, Pantopia’s culture is centered around art and storytelling. Brian Morrow, Creative Director, described the theme behind the new area, “Pantopia is really the place where people can travel from around the world and come back with stories of amazing lands and amazing animals from all over the place and share them with each other.”
We got a behind-the-scenes construction tour of Falcon’s Fury and Pantopia back in February.

Busch Gardens held “soft opens” for the ride over the past few weeks giving park guests an opportunity to try the ride before the official opening. Falcon’s Fury opens today at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida.
