Pop rockers Fall Out Boy have dropped their newest video and, in many ways, it’s a return of the more light-hearted Fall Out Boy of days past.
The video is for “Irresistible,” the first track on their most recent album American Beauty/American Psycho. After the more serious style of many of their more recent videos, especially the short film The Young Blood Chronicles, which delivered music videos for every song of their Save Rock and Roll album, “Irresistible” is by contrast a fun and campy affair similar to some of their earlier videos.
In the video, which is covered in distortion you’d expect from an old VHS tape, we see our boys join in a game of street basketball in their most flattering short shorts and get their asses soundly kicked. They apparently know how to get a crowd going though, as the spectators are going crazy for every failure.
Highlights include a series of explosions celebrating a missed shot, confetti for no apparent reason while the winning team looks on in confusion, and poor Patrick once again losing a hand.
Fall Out Boy will be touring North America this summer with Wiz Khalifa as part of the Boys of Zummer tour.
