Fans Of Buffy Spin-off Fray Make A Short Film Continuation Called Lurk

Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans are very dedicated, as they are planning to crowd fund Lurk, a short film continuation of the Buffy spinoff Fray, by Joss Whedon.

“In the ten years since Buffy has been off the air, there had been a Buffy Summers-shaped hole in our hearts. We love the characters in Fray and we thought that telling the story of Melaka Fray on film was both a natural progression and the perfect opportunity to make something cool for the fandom” reads the Kickstarter, run by professionals and students at Loyola-Marymount University’s film school.

Lurk is our contribution to the Whedonverse. It is our little way of giving back and continuing the Slayer legacy, and we need you, the fans, to help us make it!”.

Fray is an eight-issue comic book limited series set in the future that follows Melaka Fray, a vampire slayer, drawn into a war against her vampire twin brother who was gifted with the prophetic dream meant for her.

The series debuted in 2001 published by Dark Horse Comics. After its conclusion in 2003, a trade paperback collecting the whole series was published by Dark Horse.

So far, Lurk has raised $8,424 out of the $9, 850 goal. The campaign ends on November 20th.
