Short Film Explains Some Gaps In Fast And The Furious Franchise

A short film made back in 2009 brings us to the Dominican Republic to explain where Dom was during a couple of the Fast and the Furious movies.

The Fast and the Furious franchise has set a standard for box office success over the last decade, but it’s also created a couple of mysteries.

One of those mysteries? Where the hell was Dom Toretto  (Vin Diesel) in 2 Fast 2 Furious and most of Tokyo Drift?

The answer’s a treat for those of us who didn’t know about Los Bandoleros, a 20-minute short film created back in 2009. It stars some familiar faces we’ve come to love–Dom, Han, Letty, Santos, and Leo–hanging out in the Dominican Republic and indulging in some illegal activities. All for the greater good, though, as usual.

This hidden gem recently went viral with the release and record-breaking success of Furious 7 over the weekend.

As for the second mystery, if you haven’t figured it out at this point, the movies were released in a different order to the actual events within the plot. If you’d like to follow a logical timeline, they should be watched in the following order:

1. The Fast and the Furious (2001)

2. Fast 2 Furious (2003)

3. Los Bandoleros short film (2009)

4. Fast & Furious (2009)

5. Fast Five (2011)

6. Fast & Furious 6 (2013)

7. The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

8. Furious 7 (2014)

Now, immerse yourselves in Los Bandoleros. I hope you enjoy it as much as this Fast fan did.
