Wish you could experience The Fast and the Furious in real life? While we definitely don’t recommend trying those car stunts at home, soon you’ll be able to see trained professionals blow your mind with amazing car stunts, as Universal Studios is teaming up with Brand Events to create a live arena tour guaranteed to wow any fan of this stunt-based franchise.
Featuring recreations of stunts from the movies, Fast & Furious Live will hit arenas in January 2018. Though no dates have been announced yet, Vince Klaseus, President of Universal Brand Development, assures fans that this is a can’t-miss event.
“Fast & Furious Live will transform the live-entertainment industry in the same way the global box-office franchise has redefined the action genre. Fans will experience everything they love about the films in an up-close and incredibly cool live show, putting them in the center of the action.”
Fast & Furious Live will be produced by Chris Hughes and James Cooke-Priest as well as writer/director Rowland French. They have also produced the Top Gear Live tour with Brand Entertainment in the past, and Cooke-Priest is referring to it as “the most spectacular live-automotive production in history.”
According to David O’Connor, Executive VP of Global Franchise Management and Brand Marketing, a live show is a great way to explore taking the Fast and the Furious brand in new directions in a way that is exciting for fans.
The new trailer for the eighth film in the franchise — The Fate and the Furious — was released during the Superbowl. Stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, and Tyrese Gibson are returning, and superstar newcomer Charlize Theron is joining the cast.
