Fifty Shade Of Grey Trilogy Hits Milestone With 100 Million Copies Sold

 Soon to be a major motion picture, the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, by author E.L. James, has become a worldwide phenomenon. It is one of the most read book series in the world, with more than 100 million copies sold.

Released in 2011, the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy took the United States by storm selling 45 million copies in print and electronic form.  Celebrities such as Ian Somerhalder (The Vampire Diaries) and Ashley Benson (Pretty Little Liars) are amongst the many stars that jumped on the 50 Shades bandwagon.

Published by Vintage Books, more than 27 million copies in the United Kingdom were sold, while one million copies in Spain, Germany, Brazil, the Netherlands and France were sold.

The film starring Jamie Dornan (Once Upon a Time) and Dakota Johnson (The Fall) will hit U.S. theaters on February 14, 2015 and U.K. theaters on February 13, 2015.
