Director David Ayer announced that production on the hotly anticipated Suicide Squad film wrapped this week (August 28). He made the announcement over twitter, and accompanied it with a photo of the crew:

The ensemble cast includes Will Smith (as Deadshot), Jared Leto (as the Joker), Margot Robbie (as Harley Quinn), Cara Delevingne (as Enchantress), and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, among many others. Leto appears to be missing from the cast photo, but considering he stayed in character on set, it isn’t surprising he’d pass on the photo op.
In the comics, the Suicide Squad is a special task force assembled by the government to be sent out on incredibly dangerous and deadly missions. The group consists of criminals and other villainous-types who complete these missions in exchange for time off their sentences.
Principal photography on the film began in April, and the film was shot in Toronto, Canada where local fans were able to see the new Batmobile in action. Bystanders were also able to catch a glimpse of Robbie filming scenes involving Batman and the hood of the Jokermobile.
Judging by their social media feeds, the cast grew exceptionally close while shooting the film. They even gave each other tattoos:

Hopefully the closeness between the cast members will translate to an amazing superhero film.
The Suicide Squad is scheduled to hit theatres on August 5, 2016.
