‘Finding Dory’ Poster Debuts

After years of waiting, fans of ‘Finding Nemo’ have a sequel on the horizon, and in advance of the trailer’s debut, Pixar has released the first poster.

Finding Dory is one of Disney and Pixar’s most highly anticipated and longest awaited sequels. The movie takes place six months after the end of Finding Nemo, and sees Dory living among Nemo and his fellow clown fish. When Dory takes Nemo on a class field trip, she begins to feel homesick, and embarks on a quest to discover her home.

Dory will continue to be voiced by the incredible Ellen DeGeneres, with Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy voicing her parents. Old friends like Marlin, Nemo, and the Tank Gang will join new characters, including an octopus, sea lions, and a beluga whale, in the film expected to hit screens in 2016. The movie will be set at the California Marine Biology Institute, which notes a reported change from the original script. Initially, the film was set at an aquatic park, similar to Sea World. This was apparently amended very early on, after filmmakers saw Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s documentary about Sea World, Blackfish.

In advance of the film’s first trailer, which will debut tomorrow (November 10), Disney and Pixar have debuted its first poster:

Finding Dory will be directed by Andrew Stanton, the director behind Finding Nemo. The film will also feature the voice talents of Albert Brooks, Willem Dafoe, Dominic West, Ty Burrell, and Idris Elba. Finding Dory hits movie theatres on June 17, 2016, just in time for summer.
