The first official picture of actor and Broadway alum Taye Diggs in his Hedwig and the Anrgy Inch makeup has been released.
Taking over from Glee’s Darren Criss, Diggs is the latest famous face to take on the role of the transgender German rocker on Broadway.
In an exclusive interview with People, Taye tells the magazine he’s loving the role as well as his new makeover:
“Hedwig is the role of a lifetime. I’m looking forward to being challenged performance-wise on many levels, as well as being humbled by the musical’s social implications. I also like wearing nail polish.”
Diggs starts his 12-week run on July 22 at the Belasco Theatre.
