The NBC released the first promo for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon today, and it’s looking pretty good!
It was announced last april that Jay Leno would retire this year and Jimmy Fallon would take over The Tonight Show starting on February 17th. Jay Leno was a regular substitute host for Johnny Carson before he took over the show in 1982. He briefly retired from the show in 2009 leaving Conan O’Brien in charge, but came back in 2010.
Fallon’s previous show Late Night with Jimmy Fallon will now be hosted by fellow SNL alum Seth Meyers beginning on February 24th.
On this one minute promo we get to see a small flashback of the history of The Tonight Show. It ends with the introduction of Jimmy Fallon to this new phase.
