Well it looks like Matt Smith’s time in the Tardis is officially over. Doctor Who producer Marcus Wilson sent this tweet earlier today (October 5th). The Christmas Special also marks Wilson’s departure from the BBC Show.
So it's goodnight from me, and it's goodnight from him. That's a wrap. Christmas 2013. Thank you all.

According to a report on Digital Spy, Peter Capaldi who will be replacing Smith following his departure at Christmas visited the set on Thursday 3rd October to film his first scenes as the 12th Doctor.
However worry not Whovians, we still have two more episodes with the bowtie, fez wearing version of our favorite Time Lord. Matt Smith will star in the upcoming 50th anniversary episode on 23rd November and of course we still have the Christmas Special ahead of us.
However, dear 11, we have loved you as we love all our Doctors.
