It looks like television sets will be getting a little Charmed in the near future. CBS is planning to do a reboot of the hit television show that focused on four magical siblings. Oh dear.
Two of the stars of the original show have taken to Twitter to voice their opinions about the network’s decision to revitalize the eight-season show. Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs are both being vocal about the reboot, but both are doing it in a polite manner. Combs even begs fans of the original series to “reserve judgment” until they see it.
“Here’s the thing. Everything is a reboot. If you think otherwise you haven’t read enough Shakespeare yet,” Combs, who played Piper Halliwell in the supernatural series, recently said. The actress went on to say, “At least they had the decency to call it what it is. Instead of ripping it off and then pretending to not be ripping it off.” That seems like a very good point.
Milano ,who was Phoebe Halliwell in the tv series, told her fans on Twitter, “The thing about them doing a #charmed reboot is… it just… it feels like yesterday. It feels too close.” It seems like she doesn’t want her character recast for the reboot. She even tweeted, “I would definitely do a #charmed movie.”

While Combs made an apt observation about the entertainment industry and even seemed to be willing to give the ‘new’ show a chance, she doesn’t seem quite so keen on the idea. The actress stated, “Watch it. Or don’t. Then if you don’t have anything nice to say….. Come sit by me. ;)”. Was it a joke? That is not clear. It’s hard to say anything in a mere 140 character.
