Who knew that a musical television series about a bunch of underdogs would eventually churn out stars of superhero television franchises?
Since Glee has closed its curtains, alumni of the show have been doing big superhero-y things; Grant Gustin, who played villainous Warbler Sebastian, is now headlining his own show as The Flash, while Melissa Benoist, who played good girl Marley, is now taking on the role of Supergirl.
And now three former cast mates of theirs are on board a new superhero television series.
Mark Salling, who played Noah Puckerman, and Josh Sussman, known for his role of school newspaper editor Ben Israel in Glee, have joined upcoming television series Gods and Secrets. Meanwhile, Max Adler, who played closeted gay jock Dave Karofsky, will work behind the scenes as an Associate Producer.
The new show, which will air on HBO, was created by Adi Shankar, Jenni Powell, and Shawn Deloache. It will explore the human side of superheroes and the ramifications of a tragedy on a Justice League-like team called the Guardians of Justice.
There is no word yet on what roles Salling and Sussman will play, but hopefully one or both of them might end up playing a superhero.
They will be joining Denise Richards, Jane Seymour, WWE star Dallas Page, Sharny Vinson, Andy Milonakis, and Twilight stars Jackson Rathbone and Kellan Lutz, who have already been cast.
