This is not the kind of news anyone wants to deliver, and especially about a wonderful person.
MLB Network analyst and former Major League Baseball player Darryl Hamilton, 50, was found dead Sunday in his Houston home. Elsewhere in the house police found the body of 44-year-old Monica Jordan. The two had a 14-month child, who was found at the home, thankfully unhurt.
Apparently there are several gunshot wounds found on Hamilton’s body, and a ‘fatal, self-inflicted’ gunshot wound found on Jordan’s body. I’m sure more details will emerge from this but whatever happened has truly developed into a tragedy. As a baseball fan, I remember watching Hamilton play against my Cubs and he was always one to watch. Hamilton played for many different Major League teams, including the Texas Rangers, Milwaukee Brewers, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets and San Francisco Giants.
Fellow analysts are absolutely devastated, sharing their thoughts about the news on Twitter:
RIP, Darryl Hamilton. I can’t believe I am even typing this. I loved working with him, loved being around him. Just a fantastic person.

Our thoughts go out to the Hamilton and Jordan families; hopefully they can find a bit of closure in this sad time.
