Fox made some very strategic release date announcements today for some of their highly anticipated films. Guillermo del Toro’s animated movie Book of Life, David Fincher’s adaptation of Gone Girl and the reimagining of Frankenstein.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the highly anticipated movies will be hitting theatres on the following dates. First, David Fincher’s adaptation of the sensational best seller, Gone Girl, will hit theatres on October 3rd 2014.

In addition to that Fox also announced that their family film Book of Life would arrive on October 17th. 2014. Gone Girl is the book everyone and their mother was and is still talking about, though I’m still not sold on the cast (Rachel McAdams will always and forever be my Amy) I’m very much looking forward to this.

Secondly, Frankenstein with James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe will now open on January 16th 2015 instead of October 17th 2014. It’s original release date was two weeks after Dracula Untold which would have made for a wonderful monster-mash double feature but that is no longer going to happen.
