A tribute to The Simpsons star Marcia Wallace is to air this Sunday (November 3) on Fox.
The actress died on Saturday (October 26) at the age of 70 and was known for providing the voice for Edna Krabappel on the legendary animation series.
A scheduled repeat of American Dad! has been replaced by a classic episode featuring her character. The episode was the show’s 16th from its third season (titled ‘Bart the Lover’) and is a story of troublemaker Bart faking a response to a personal ad from his teacher (Krabappel). Wallace’s performance in this particular episode won her an Emmy Award back in 1992.
A brand new episode of the hit series will follow after the tribute episode, ending with a tribute card from producers to her.
When her death was annoucned last week producer Al Jean stated, “I was tremendously saddened to learn this morning of the passing of the brilliant and gracious Marcia Wallace. She was beloved by all at The Simpsons and we intend to retire her irreplaceable character.”
“Bart the Love” will air on November 3 at 7.30pm followed by an all-new episode at 8pm on Fox.
