Lando Calrission is setting sail for Lima. That’s right folks; Billy Dee Williams has signed on for a guest arc on Glee. Something he very excitedly announced on twitter:

As any good Gleek worth their salt knows, part of what makes the show magical is their ability to attract spectacular guest stars. From Gwenyth Paltrow’s eccentric Holly Holiday; to Whoopi Goldberg’s formidable Carmen Tibideaux; to Carol Burnett’s role of Sue’s self-absorbed mother; all the way to John Stamos’ delicious turn as Emma’s short-lived lover, Carl. Glee’s reach knows no bounds.

It was also recently announced that the wonderfully kooky Shirley MacLaine will be joining the ranks as a New York socialite who sets her sights on making Blaine a star. One also might wonder if the acquisition of all of this seemingly unattainable talent is an attempt to boost the show’s floundering ratings. Whatever the reason, I am on board with the outcome; and I sincerely hope that this show that we all love and cherish so much will continue on this current path and take it back to its roots.

At this point, there are no details as to who Williams will be playing, or whether or not he can and/or will sing. As we know, the fact that Glee is a musical show has no real bearing on whether or not the guest stars will sing. We all remember Gloria Estefan, right?
