Funimation Announces Seraph Of The End Collectors Set At SDCC

Funimation announced an exclusive collectors set of their popular title Seraph of the End during the 2016 San Diego Comic Con.

As part of their traditional San Diego Comic-Con announcements, Funimation unveiled details about the upcoming release of Seraph of the End Season 1 Part 2 and an additional collectors’ set of both parts combined! For those of you who aren’t familiar with Seraph of the End, it takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where vampires have taken over and require sectors of fighters with enhanced weapons to combat the demonic foes. Part 1 of the first season focused a lot on introducing us to those fighting vampires, but the second half will introduce us to both sides and reconnecting former best friends in a dark scenario.

Regarding the Funimation announcement, the company stated, “We released Season 1 Part 1 On DVD in May of this year, with a design focused on the humans, since the first 12 episodes established the human foundation. As fans of the show, we knew that the conflict between the humans and vampires was going to grow more intensely in the next part. After watching Part 2 (episodes 13-24), we were inspired to figure out a way to display the direct conflict between those two groups through the design of our home video releases.”

Finally, they expressed their excitement for the unique box set of Seraph of the End, giving us a few details and perks we can expect from spending a little extra cash on a spectacular series. Funimation divulged, “All 24 episodes will be available on Blu-Ray and DVD in the Collectors Edition set that features a large, rigid chipboard box with soft-touch effect, embossing, and green foil accents. Within the box, you will find an 8-panel digipak featuring the commissioned art piece and other art, a 200-page hardcover artbook featuring character bios, background art, and exclusive magazine illustrations, 8 collectible art cards featuring illustrations from the Japanese Limited Edition releases, and 10 adorable chibi stickers featuring your favorite humans and vampires. This is the ultimate set for any Seraph of the End fan!”

If you haven’t had the chance to at least somewhat binge Seraph of the End, give the series a chance with Part 1 available now — or wait for both if you can’t wait to watch from beginning to end!
