If you’re like me, you’re already worried about how you’re going to survive the hiatus between the finale of season three of Game of Thrones and its season four premiere. Lucky for us, though, we now know that the show won’t be taking a Mad Men- or Breaking Bad-esque hiatus of a year (and then some).
Yes, it has been officially confirmed that season four of the hit HBO series will return in early 2014. As a matter of fact, it has been reported that production and shooting Game of Thrones‘ next season will likely begin right around the time this season ends! The scripts for the whole season are all but completed, and casting has already begun for a few new characters (Mace Tyrell, Oberyn Martell, and the Magnar of Thenn, among others).
If you watch the finale and then can’t wait for next season to begin, there is one thing you could do to pass the time: read the books! Trust me, you won’t regret it!
