George Clooney will receive the 2015 Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes in January.
The award, given by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, is one of the highest honors in the film industry, and has been given to one individual every year since 1952, where it was given to Cecil B. DeMille, the filmmaker whose name now graces the honor.
Clooney, who has proved his talents in front of and behind the camera, will receive the honor from the HFPA. Previous recipients include Woody Allen last year, Jodie Foster in 2012, and Morgan Freeman, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese and Robert DeNiro also receiving the honor in the past few years.
The Golden Globes will air in January next year, and will see the hilarious duo of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler return as hosts for the third consecutive year.
