The 2013 Seattle International Film Festival is set to run from May 16 to June 9, screening over 447 films and featuring special guests Peter Greenaway and Kyle MacLachlan. SIFF will begin with Joss Whedon’s Much Ado About Nothing and close June 9 with the American premiere of Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring.
The centerpiece film is Morgan Neville’s Twenty Feet From Stardom, a documentary following the lives and careers of backup singers. Over the course of the festival, it will screen 272 feature films (plus four that are yet to be announced), and 175 shorts from 85 countries.
New this year is the African Pictures Program, which showcases films from Africa with help from the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
