Since we are almost a week out from the historic Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special The Day of The Doctor, updates are being released everywhere. Thursday, however, was an amazing day for Whovians. Not only was the prequel The Night of The Doctor released, but also many new stills from the upcoming special continued to find there way out to the Internet. The stills, released by the BBC, show many of the previously known facts, and give us breathtaking visuals to match our expectations against. Whovians are not disappointed.
The 75-minute special staring Matt Smith, David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, Billie Piper and John Hurt is set to premiere in a live simulcast around the world. Not only will the special air on televisions across the globe, but also in select theatres. ovember 23, 2013, is the day and fans worldwide will share in the celebration together.
Fans are ecstatic at the newest glimpse of a Zygon from The Day of The Doctor. The Zygons are a favorite monster from the Tom Baker era story Terror of the Zygons. Oddly after only being in only one story, Zygons received a passionate fandom following and Whovians have asked repeatedly to bring the shape shifters back to Doctor Who. David Tennant has mentioned that Terror of the Zygons is his favorite classic Doctor Who story.
As the climax of BBC’s America’s Doctor Who takeover the special will also be re-aired later on the 23rd and include behind the scenes additions. A weeklong celebration with countdowns, marathons and new specials, this epic week from November 18- November 24, 2013, is set to be the biggest Doctor Who celebration in America.
