Gilmore Girls Are Back Where They Belong — On Our TVs

Rory and Lorelai Gilmore (and the rest of Stars Hollow) are headed back to our TVs! Find out all the details here! Where they go, we’ll follow…

Calling out to anyone who went in search — whether on a map or just in their hearts and minds — for Stars Hollow, Connecticut: the mother of all mother-daughter relationships is coming back to our TVs!

That’s right, America! Get ready for a Gilmore invasion. Starting with a huge marathon on October 4 and, then, airing in two-hour daily chunks, new channel UP! Network will show every episode of Gilmore Girls! I know it’s on Netflix, which is great for binging (especially since it led to some seven-season bonding with my own mum last year), but there’s something beautiful about following Lorelai’s dating disasters and Rory’s educational exploits bit by bit.

UP!’s Senior Vice President of Programming, Sophia Kelley, said in a statement:

Gilmore Girls is a fan-favorite series that retains a very large and passionate following. The strong and loving mother-daughter relationship portrayed in Gilmore Girls is a beautiful testament to the wonderful power of family drama. The series is a perfect fit for our brand of family entertainment.

With a daily dose of those Gilmores on our televisions and that wonderful and expansive panel at ATX this year, I can’t help but wonder if we are inching ever-so-slowly toward a reunion film or show.

I’ve shared a few of my favorite GG moments below, so please let me know yours in the comments! Get your coffee bowls and those iron stomachs ready and be prepared to argue Team Luke vs. Team Christopher and Team Logan vs. Team Jess. Oy, with the poodles already!
