Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding Goes Solo With Threads

With every member of Girls Aloud but Sarah Harding having pursued a solo career, it is time for the latter to go solo with her debut single, “Threads”.

Girls Aloud last reunited in 2012 for a greatest hits era, only to announce their disbandment later on. Solo careers were resumed or started for every bandmate but Sarah Harding. The songstress has now decided to join the movement by launching a solo career with her debut single, titled “Threads”.

Sarah Harding actually penned “Threads” herself, in collaboration with Julie Thompson and Ben Cullum. The track finds the songstress singing like a siren on top of an upbeat rock-pop production, which combines live instrumentation and electronic elements in a great way. The former Girls Aloud bandmate stated that she found writing the track “cathartic”, as it’s about people coming and going in [her] life that weren’t necessarily the right ones. She even thought the sound would surprise listeners, but it’s not really something you can’t picture the British girlband singing at some point of their career, is it?

Solo careers for Girls Aloud began during their three-year hiatus, as Cheryl Tweedy Cole Fernandez-Versini launched hers back in 2009, followed by Nadine Coyle in 2010 and Nicola Roberts in 2011. After the girlband reunited and split again, Kimberley Walsh went solo as well. It was only normal for Sarah Harding to eventually find her way and pursue success as a solo artist.

Take a listen to her debut single, “Threads”, below and make sure to purchase it when it comes out, on August 7.
