Apparently not only should Frozen’s Elsa get a girlfriend, but now Captain America fans are asking Marvel to give him a boyfriend. And we all think it is quite clear who this boyfriend should be.
Fans have flooded Twitter to ask Marvel to #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend. The hashtag began trending Monday and it still keeps going strong. Almost all of the Twitter posts mention the palpable chemistry between Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, and his best friend James Buchanan, aka Bucky Barnes.
Steve and Bucky, played in the Marvel movies by Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan respectively, have been friends since childhood and have been inseparable ever since.
In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Steve/Bucky ship began to sail at full speed. Viewers were moved by Steve’s loyalty to Bucky, even if it came at a high personal cost to him. Bucky also showed his devotion for Steve, doing everything in his power to remember him after the Hydra brainwash.
There is one important scene in the movie that shows the strength of the bond this duo shares. Bucky tells Steve, after his mother’s death, that he will always take care of him. Steve objects telling Bucky that he can take care of himself. Which brings us to Bucky’s response, the line of dialogue that has been tattooed in the hearts and minds of ‘Stucky’ shippers everywhere: “I’m with you ’til the end of the line, pal.”
And even though Steve Rogers falls for Peggy Carter, after her death in Captain America: Civil War it could be argued that now Rogers is back on the market. After a little mourning time, of course.
Fans seem to agree. Check out some of our favorite tweets below:
If I was available myself it might be different, but as I am not, I can wholeheartedly support the #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend movement.

#GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend because even homophobes must agree it’s less gross than him kissing his old girfriend’s niece
