Watch out Gleeks, cause it looks like the writers might be throwing us a major curveball.
According to EOnline, a source from the show tells them that the writers are considering three different storylines for the sixth and, possibly, final season.
One of them is moving the entire show to New York City where three characters, Santana, Rachel and Kurt, already live in.
The next is unknown but may involve McKinley High School.
The third involves Kurt moving to Russia.
“We are mulling around the idea of moving Kurt to Russia,” says a source.
Recently, Russia passed a law banning “propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations among minors,” which has caused much controversy among the LGBT community. The 2014 Winter Olympics is also taking place in Russia, which also has cause much controversy over the safety of LGBT athletes. As a result, Olympic gold medalists protested in New York City’s Time Square on Tuesday.
The idea of Russia and New York came after the passing of the late Cory Montieth, who Ryan Murphy says the final season was going to revolve around along with Lea Michele’s character Rachel.
“The final year of the show, which will be next year, was designed around Rachel and Cory/Finn’s story,” Murphy said. “I knew what the last shot was, he was in it. I knew what the last line was, she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now.”
So what do you think Gleeks? Do you want to show to fully move to New York or do you want to keep McKinley High School in the mix too? What about Kurt’s possible move to Russia?
Either way, it seems this season will be interesting no matter what “New Direction” the writers take the show.
