Gleeks, the rumor mill is churning yet again with talks of a Glee spinoff starring Lea Michele.
Following news that Glee as we know and love it has a definitive end at the sixth season, a potential spinoff with the incomparable Rachel Berry is music to our ears.
Radar Online claim a spinoff is “definitely happening,” but don’t hold your breath just yet (cue fading music in our ears).
An insider told E! Online that, “There is Glee and Glee only.”
Basically this is a nice way of saying that spinoff rumors need to be tucked in and put to bed.
Earlier today, Darren Criss, Glee’s own Blaine Anderson, offered up his thoughts on the potential spinoff.
“I have no idea. I have just heard this rumor myself” he said.
Some are theorizing that any given New York spinoff would not only centre around Rachel, but that of fellow New Directions alum, Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Santana (Naya Rivera) who have also made NY their home.
When Criss was asked if he would become a part of the mix, given that his character is engaged to Kurt, he replied “Wherever they go, I will go” adding “I’m just happy to be a part of the party!”
Following the death of beloved Glee star, Cory Monteith, show creator Ryan Murphy revealed the show finale has been completely re-worked and we may see the story lines migrate from Lima, Ohio, to New York City or even as far as Russia for at least one of our McKinley High alumni.
“I always knew how it would end. I knew what the last shot was, he was in it. I knew what the last line was – she said it to him. So when a tragedy like that happens you sort of have to pause and figure out what you want to do, so we’re figuring that out now,” reported TVLine.
We expect even more rumors to add to the growing pile that surrounds Glee as the final season approaches. or now a spinoff with Lea Michele is being added to the pile of “we aren’t sure yet.”
