Gleeks will be disappointed to hear that Season 5 will be ending earlier than expected. Instead of having the 22 episodes that fans are used to, this season will only have 20 episodes. As some might have guessed, the dip in episodes can be attributed to the unexpected hiatus the cast and crew had due to the tragic passing of Cory Monteith.
Most will remember that following the two part Beatles tribute extravaganza and the Finn Hudson/Cory Monteith tribute episode production shutdown for a month. This shift also means that Gleeks will be seeing less of the newest New York crew thanks to the sudden shift from Lima to New York.
Last week’s episode marked a turning point for the show, since Glee will now reside solely in the Big Apple. In addition to Darren Criss, Chord Overstreet, and Kevin McHale, Amber Riley will be joining the rest of her friends in New York. How did you like the new episode in the city? Was it was it what you expected?
Have no fear about the sudden cut down on episodes this season; Gleeks still have many more episodes to enjoy before the season finale. Fox Chief Operator Joe Earley told The Hollywood Reporter, “Glee is still a great property to have on our air. There have been some scheduling challenges…but what we see is still an incredibly popular show with a lot of time-shifting.”
