Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt has made it clear that he wants Google Maps to once again become the the default mapping app on iOS products. As of now iOS devices use Apple Maps, which has been accompanied by glitches and inaccuracies. Since the return of Google Maps to the App Store in December 2012, the application has proved to be a consumer favorite. Google Maps for iPhone and iPad was downloaded 10 million times in the two day period following its return to the App Store. Schmidt explains that it would be easy enough for Apple to implement their app as the default setting in newly released products.
