‘Gotham’ will be returning with its second season this fall and since Joker will be in the spotlight, the teasing has already begun.

Cameron Monaghan was spotted being pretty creepy in the Gotham prequel and people were sure he was going to be donning the purple suit and make up to terrorise Bruce Wayne. Well, a recent instagram post from the actor may have just confirmed that.

The showrunner Bruno Heller told the Hollywood Reporter that the next season would focus on Gotham‘s most famous enemy. In his exact words:

“We’re going to find out how the hell Jerome, the proto-Joker we met earlier in this season, connects with the Joker as people known him. That’s the big focus of the beginning of the second season. We’re going to tell the story of how the Joker came to be.”

The Gotham panel on Saturday of SDCC looks likely to reveal more details of season two.
