Its official, Grand Theft Auto 5 is a big hit.
According to Digital Spy, not only did it make $1 billion in its first three days alone, beating out Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and The Avengers, it even on its way to becoming the best-selling game of all time.
“Grand Theft Auto is a cultural phenomenon and Rockstar Games continues to redefine what can be achieved in interactive entertainment,” says Take-Two chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick.
He continued by saying, “we are incredibly proud of the extraordinary critical and commercial response to Grand Theft Auto 5.”
Grand Theft Auto 5 also broke the record for highest first-day sales by making $800 million beating out Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’s previous record of $500 million.
Grand Theft Auto 5 is now available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
