The Flash Roundup: What We Know So Far

Staff Writer

Big news for comic book fans! The Flash, a spin-off from the popular CW show Arrow, has been picked up! Grant Gustin, known for his role on Glee as Sebastian Smyth, will stay to continue playing Barry Allen in the new series. It is highly doubtful that his character will be waking up from his coma in time to make another cameo in Arrow; it is speculated that he will be waking up in the pilot of his own show. Most of the first season of the new series will probably be based around Allen learning about his new powers and solve the mystery of his mothers death.

Be prepared to see a few familiar faces in the show’s cast! Rick Cosnett, known for his role as Dr. Wes Maxfield in The Vampire Diaries, has been cast as Proffesor Zoom, The Flash’s main arch-nemesis. Both Barry and Eddie (Prof Zoom’s human persona) will be working in the Central City Police Department.

Detective West and Iris West will be played by Jesse L. Martin and Candice Patton, respectively. Danielle Panabaker has been cast as Killer Frost, another of  The Flash’s villains. Carlos Valdes will also join the show as Vibe, another hero that Allen will probably work with.

The Flash will be more of a sci-fi show than Arrow, and will remain a separate entity with very few, if any, crossover between them.

The new series is set to air Fall 2014.
