October, which is usually a slow month for film, seems to have done nothing to stop the gravitational pull that Gravity has had over audiences worldwide since its opening almost two weeks ago.
Gravity is a science thriller that follows the story of two surviving astronauts from a damaged Space Shuttle mission and their perilous journey back to earth.
When you have big names like Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in a film, crowds are bound to come flooding in, and flooding in they did. On Monday it pulled in $6.2 million making its total $128.5 million stateside; overseas it raked in a modest $71.9 million pushing it over the $200 million mark according to reports from Variety.
Could Gravity pull the No. 1 weekend spot for all of October? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
