Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has confirmed that the band will be taking a break at the conclusion of their Australian tour in early 2014.
Armstrong appeared on BBC Radio 2 with Jo Whiley and said, “We’re going to Australia, doing a tour there and then we’re going to take a break,”
“We haven’t really been doing much. So it’s just nice to kind of do some other things, y’know, [then] when we get ready to do Green Day again, our batteries will be charged.”
The American rock group will headline the Soundwave Festival in Australia, which kicks off in Brisbane on February 22, and make their way through 5 states, wrapping up in Perth on March 3.
