‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Will NOT Feature The Hulk

Excitement over special additions to ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2’ continues as rumors of infamous Marvel character The Hulk joining Peter Quill surface.

James Gunn has dispelled more rumors regarding who might be getting added to the line-up of Guardians for his anticipated Marvel sequel, this time regarding the green goliath, Hulk.

The Marvel audience has become very anxious for news regarding Bruce Banner’s next appearance in the MCU, following the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Being a brightly-colored behemoth, it is hard to imagine Hulk would be hiding away for a long time (Bruce Banner may not be able to keep his cool given that the drums of a Civil War are pounding), but there has been no confirmation about his fate.

With the expansion into the cosmic realm of the Marvel Universe thanks to Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and also with the upcoming Captain Marvel in 2018, many fans have speculated at the inclusion of the Planet Hulk storyline to parallel Captain America: Civil War, mirroring a similar narrative to the comic books of 2006.

Although the thought of Hulk and Groot kicking butt together (or kicking each others) is an exciting prospect, but during a Twitter Q&A, Gunn put his proverbial foot down and maintained that there was “zero chance” of Hulk being in GOTG2, and also stated that he did not want more than one earth-dweller on the team: “For the time being, it is important to me that Quinn is the sole (human) earthling character”.

Gunn has maintained this opinion since the first film’s release, after he denied the possibility of the earth hero Nova appearing, something that was hinted after the inclusion of the Nova Corps in the first film. Captain Marvel was also a speculated member, but this was also denied.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is due to be released May 5th, 2017.
