Who’s ready for some Guardians of the Galaxy goodness? During the February 18 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, GotG star Chris Pratt will introduce the first official trailer.
Earlier, USA Today revealed the news, as well as three brand spankin’ new stills for your viewing pleasure.
The flick is due to hit theaters on August 1, and appears to be a departure from the typical superhero movies of which we’ve become accustom. The story will begin in celestial prison called Kylin, which was recently a part of the plot in a comicbook miniseries from the Thanos line. From there, they’ll swoop to Knowhere, the team’s former base, which is actually just a head, as written while Guardians was under the creative control of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning.
It was also revealed that Peter Quill’s ship, pictured above, will be called The Milano. Ronan and Nebula have been announced and the main villains, but fans have yet to be given a glimpse of their personifications.
Direction James Gunn (Dawn of the Dead) promises that the film adaptation will not be in any way short on action, it will also focus on “these characters, their emotions, and their relationships.” Chris Pratt also promises that Guardians will not disappoint, stating that Guardians is a “comic-book movie that no one’s seen before.”
