Happy Birthday, Sandra! Celebrate With Sandra Bullock’s Top Movie Moments

Sandra Bullock turns 51 today, and in honor of her birthday we’ve put together a list of our top five favorite films that she’s made!

It’s July 26th, and do you know what that means?

It’s Sandra Bullock’s birthday! And, let’s be honest, who doesn’t love Sandy?

In honor of her 51st birthday, I think it’s only fitting that we revisit some of her most amazing and memorable moments in film!

  1. Miss Congeniality

Who didn’t love Miss Congeniality? Especially this moment, when Gracie Heart warns us not to mess with her after she’s been subjected to an intense makeover. This film is definitely one of my Sandra favorites.

2.   Practical Magic

Practical Magic is probably one of my all-time childhood favorites. It was just so whimsical, yet creepy, and boasted a great cast of amazing female characters. Is it terrible that my favorite scene, though, is when the aunts wake up Sally and Gillian for midnight margaritas?

3.   Speed

How can we do a Sandra Bullock film list and not include Speed, the film that put her on the map? It’s probably one of my favorite 90s films; not only is it suspenseful and fun to watch, but Keanu Reeves stars alongside Sandra Bullock. What more could you want?

4.   Gravity

Gravity makes the list because it was unlike anything Sandra has ever done before. Besides Clooney’s minor-ish role, it was pretty much just Sandra Bullock, as Ryan Stone, in a bid to make it back to earth alive. Her performance here was powerful and showed off Sandra’s range. Even though Bullock has played a variety of characters, I always think of her as more of a comedic actress, but this movie cements a different perspective of her in my mind.

5.   The Proposal

Some people might not like that I’ve included The Proposal over something like The Blind Side, but to be honest I never got around to watching The Blind Side so I can’t in good conscience add it to the list. How can you not love Bullock’s Margaret Tate; it’s always fun to see her deviate from playing an America’s Sweetheart kind of character. Plus, things get awkward, which always makes for a great watch.

Making a list like this can’t help but make you want t re-watch all of her best films. All this to say, happy birthday, Sandra! And keep movies like these coming.
