It was announced earlier today that British actor, Roger Lloyd-Pack, has died following a battle with pancreatic cancer; he was 69.  His agent released a statement which said he died at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday night.

The British comic actor was best known in the UK for his role as the dopey street sweeper Trigger in iconic sitcom Only Fools and Horses, however the star had gained a bit of a cult following in the last few years thanks to roles in Doctor Who and the Harry Potter series.

He played the role of Ministry of Magic official Bartimaeus Crouch Sr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, who was killed by his Death Eater son Barty Crouch Jr., played by future Time Lord David Tennant.  He was reunited with the star in 2006 when he played John Lumic and the Cyber-Controller in “Rise of the Cybermen” and “The Age of Steel”.

Sir David Jason, who starred as Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses, has led the tributes to the North London actor saying, “I was very saddened to hear of Roger’s passing.  He was a very quiet, kind and unassuming actor who was a pleasure to work with.”
