Harry Styles seems to be the sweetest guy on earth right now! Of course, when you’re that rich and successful, lending an acquaintance a few thousand dollars isn’t that big a deal.

So, Harry Styles got prank called by Matt Healy, from the boy band The 1975. Healy called up Styles as part of Call Or Delete, the radio prank show that’s played on Nick Grimshaw’s Radio One show every morning at breakfast. On this show, a celebrity scrolls through his or her contacts and picks out a famous friend to play a prank on. As it turned out, One Direction was in line for a prank!

23-year-old Healy’s first choice was Niall Horan, but since he couldn’t get through to him, the show’s host, Grimshaw, pushed him on until he arrived at Styles’ number. Quite hesitantly, as he admitted that they’d met only a handful of times, Healy agreed to call him up. A few rings later, Styles answered the phone!

The conversation went a little like this:

Harry: “Hi mate, you okay?”

Matt: “Sorry I’ve never rung you before now, I was just wondering, this is going to sound ridiculous, I need £5,000 and I’m in Chalk Farm, I know it sounds ridiculous but it is a serious situation, I’m in a phone booth and a bloke is pointing to a picture of Mark Owen, it’s actually quite threatening.”

(After a pause, he hurriedly added, “Do you reckon I could give Niall a ring and see if he can come sort me some cash?”)

Harry (who remained surprisingly calm): “Okay, well, we’re in Bristol, but let me go and I’ll get my assistant to call you and she’ll sort it out.”

I think that was very nice of him!

The Girls singer did admit later that he felt very embarrassed to have done that. “He must think I’m so mental, I have never spoken to him in my life! I think I just had a panic attack,” he gushed.

Next in the firing line was Bastille lead singer, Dan Smith. Grimshaw persuaded Healy to tell him that Bastille’s recent Brit Award victory was actually meant to be shared by Bastille and The 1975. Although Healy did try his best, saying that he got an email about the award, he wasn’t quite successful. Dan saw through the act and figured out that it was a prank.

At least he tried!
