The Whoverse is currently a scary and uncertain place for fans right now, what with Matt Smith leaving and the excitement of the 50th anniversary special in November. However, today there was a moment of “OMG!!” when a supposed trailer for the anniversary special, which will be shown on 23 November, emerged on YouTube today.

As a whovian, I did squeal when I first watched the “trailer”. Especially when it shows 11 meeting 10, glimpses of John Hurt and Billie Piper and 11 hanging precariously over Trafalgar Square. Alas it looks like this trailer is an elaborate hoax. This certainly becomes more apparent when you look at the trailer more closely. There are little details everywhere, such as BBC HD rather than BBC One, and the video having been uploaded by “John Smith” not BBC.
Regardless of the authenticity of the trailer, it is still getting fans even more excited for the next instalment of Doctor Who history. And for the first time in weeks the talk of the Whoverse is not centred on who the next Doctor is going to be.
