Hasbro announced this past Thursday that the “Fan built bot” poll has already begun, and the winning choice will be announcement will be made at this years Comic-Con in San Diego. Jay Duke, the vice-president of Hasbro had this to say about the new toy: ” This is the perfect way to kick off our anniversary celebration and the new line of Thrilling 30 special edition figures. It will be tremendous fun for everyone to keep track of the entire process from the designing of the character, leading up to it’s introduction as a toy and watching it become a part of the Transformers brand.”

Voting will continue may 5th, and fans can vote at www.transformers.com.vote

I would like to add a personal note. I am a child of the 80’s, I grew up watching the Transformers series and movies. I have always had a large amount of respect for them and that will never change. However, I don’t really like the idea of introducing a new toy. I don’t see how it can or would be connected to the actual story.  If your going to do special edition toys, why can’t you remake the old toys? Those should classify as special edition toys. This is just my opinion, feel free to agree or disagree with me.
